Greetings and welcome to the University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter website!
My name is Peter Howlett and I am the current President of the University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni
Chapter. I graduated from UT Knoxville in 1999 and have many fond memories of my time there. When I think back
about my time on campus, I remember the great times I had as a freshman in Reese Hall, moving into my first house
(if you can call it that) in Fort Sanders, countless fraternity parties and trekking up the hill every day to go
to class. My fondest memories are those of the great friends and fellow classmates I met along the way and the
good times we had celebrating UT’s many victories.
When I moved to Central Florida 10 years ago, I found that I missed the times spent at UT and, more importantly,
the people I spent them with. One afternoon, I decided to search out a group of like-minded UT fans to watch some
football games with. To my surprise, I discovered that Central Florida had one of the largest and most active
University of Tennessee Alumni Association chapters in the state. Even better, the chapter has a long running
history of giving back to the community. So, I made my way to JB’s Sports Restaurant to take in a UT football
game with the chapter on a fall Saturday afternoon. While the football game was great (we won!), I came to
find that this chapter, and the fabulous alumni and friends who make it up, became my “home away from home.”
So, if you are like me and you are looking for your “home away from home”, please let us know! Email us!
