To UT Alumni, Family, and Friends,

Last week our event, "AN EVENING WITH HAYWOOD HARRIS AND GUS MANNING" was one of the most fun-filled and enjoyable programs our chapter has held. These two feisty, elderly, gentlemen kept our capacity crowd completely entertained with their humorous stories about Big Orange sport's history.

It was also the perfect kind of program to bow-out with. After four years as Chapter president, it is time to pass the torch. Beginning July 1st, Laura Leslie will fill the position of University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter President, and we are very fortunate to have her.

Laura has been a tireless contributor to our Chapter for the last several years. She is well known by our alumni locally, having served as Chapter Secretary, and is well respected throughout the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association. Laura designed and maintains our web site, implemented our charity program to the Russell Home, revised our Chapter bookkeeping system, and has played a lead role in most of our Chapter activities.

Laura will be supported by a slate of very dedicated and hard working officers comprised of:

Lauren Smith Morris, Vice-President

Nancy Williams, Secretary

Mickey Spencer, Treasurer

Our Board of Directors are a goal-oriented group determined to represent the University of Tennessee in excellent fashion and in service to our local area Alumni. They are (in addition to the officers):

Elizabeth Landers

Anne Lautzenheiser

John McKee

Lynette McKee

Jason Morris

Leslie Osborne

Charles Osborne

Kristie Scott

Lora Scott

Because of the efforts of all of the above, our Chapter is sound financially, our events are fun, and our programs are first rate. Each year our attendance and participation increases over the previous year, and we continually earn the Gold Medal Chapter Award. We can be very proud of this TEAM.

These years have been fun for me. I have met and worked with a lot of wonderful people both locally and in Knoxville. Our traditions run deep, and there is no finer group to be found. Thank you for your help and support, and best wishes to us all in the future.

Go Vols,

Ray Henry, President

University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter
