Who We are: The University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter was established 1967 in Orlando, Florida. What started out as a small band of alumni, family and friends for all UT campuses has grown into a group of over 1500. Through the years, the chapter has won numerous awards and sponsored local events for The University of Tennessee. The University of Tennessee National Alumni Association Board of Governors awarded The Central Florida UT Alumni Chapter the Gold Medal Award 2005-2006. This was given for outstanding service in advancement of the mission of The University of Tennessee. In the past The UT Central Florida Alumni Chapter has won the Bronze Medal Award 1999-2000, Silver Medal Award 2000-2001, Gold Medal Award 2001-2002, Gold Medal Award 2002-2003,Gold Medal Award 2003-2004, Gold Medal Award 2004-2005, Gold Medal Award 2005-2006, and Gold Medal Award 2006-2007. |

What We Do: The UT Central Florida Alumni Chapter has participated in the Florida Citrus Sports "Feast on The Fifty" for many years. This event is for the members of Florida Citrus Sports. The members enjoy an evening of fun, food and fireworks at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Different college and university alumni associations are invited to set up booths with their school memorabilia. They compete for such awards as Best in Spirit and Most Unique Display. Twice The University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter won the Most Unique Display Award. In 2003 The University of Tennessee Central Florida Alumni Chapter hosted the Coca-Cola Big Orange Caravan. Again in 2006 we were priveleged to host the Florida stop for the 17th annual Coca-Cola Big Orange Caravan. We have annual Socials (Past UTK Presidents, Ely Fry-forensic anthropologist, Dr. Robert Bast-Assoc. Professor of History, UT Singers, Dean of the College of Communications at UTK). We also have a fall picnic for alumni, family and friends. Every football season, VOL fans gather for TV Parties at JB's Sports Restaurant in Orlando, Florida. This year's community project is The Russell Home For Atypical Children. We are raising money for their medical and living expenses. Please click RUSSELL HOME page for more information. Scholarships: This year we are proud to be offering a University of Tennessee Scholarship to one deserving Central Florida Senior High School student. |

Events: Come join us for our Football TV Viewing parties held at JB's Sports Restaurant. All televised games will be shown. Please click on our EVENTS page for more information. Our Spring/Summer Event "A Day and Night at the Museum" was held on Sunday June 3, 2007 at The Orange County Regional History Center. UT Associate History Professor Dr. Robert Bast gave an interesting presentation on the Da Vinci Code. His subject was The Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction? Go to our EVENTS page for more on the event. Last year we hosted The 2006 Coca-Cola Big Orange Caravan. This was held on April 17, 2006 at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. This was a great opportunity for fans to interact with coaches. |
